Abby currently works as Director of Strategic Initiatives at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and as the Managing Director of Ivory Innovations. She also heads an initiative called Ivory Innovations which is focused on bringing together stakeholders of public and private organizations to support solutions to the national housing affordability crisis, as well as educating students about the problem and ways to take action. Prior to her current role she worked on the Impact Investing team for Sorenson Impact and worked with companies seeking to drive social impact as well as generate a return for their investors. While at Sorenson she ran the student program and multiple large research based initiatives for external clients. In 2016, she earned an MBA from the University of Utah with an emphasis in sustainability.

Matt founded HousingTech Ventures to advise and invest in early-stage companies with innovative, tech-enabled solutions that have the prospect to increase housing affordability, availability, and attainability. With over 20 years’ experience building businesses in the housing and technology sectors, Matt previously served as Vice President of Innovation for Enterprise Community Partners, Inc., a national real estate financial services platform serving the affordable housing sector. In that role, he built an investment portfolio of HousingTech companies and led the launch of an online impact investing brokerage. His previous experiences include serving as a policy advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce and running a federal interagency taskforce on e-commerce; providing business strategy and policy consulting to high-tech and startup companies as Vice President of E-commerce at Infotech Strategies; and co-founding and running a real estate development company in Baltimore, Maryland. He currently serves as an UrbanTech advisor to Dreamit Ventures, an Ivory Innovations Fellow, and member of the Multifamily Operating Standards Assessment & Improvement Council.  Matt has served on numerous non-profit boards and currently chairs the real estate finance committee of Benedictine Programs & Services, which helps children and adults with developmental disabilities achieve their greatest potential and is undergoing a $40 million campus transformation. He is a graduate of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government (MPP) and Brown University (BA).

As a Partner and founding member of Hometeam Ventures, Julieta drives dealflow and operations of the venture fund investing in founders bringing breakthrough technology to the world's largest – but least innovative – industries: construction and housing. Previously, she was the Head of R+D at New Story and an engineer at Arup. At New Story, she formed 50+ partnerships with key academic and industry leaders (Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Thorton Tomasetti, Arup, SOM, etc.) to pioneer groundbreaking solutions for affordable housing. In partnership with ICON, New Story permitted and built the world's first 3D printed housing community. She has an M.S. in structural engineering from UC Berkeley, a bachelor’s in structural engineering and architecture, and was a research assistant in Boston, Berkeley, and Switzerland. She postponed her Harvard Business School MBA to kick-start Hometeam VC. Her academic and industry research in AEC is focused on circular economy, virtual reality, automated drone inspection, resiliency, and sustainability. Julieta is passionate about bridging the gap between architecture, engineering, and construction through collaborative design to maximize innovation for social impact.

Tim leads JBREC’s LBM survey, and is responsible for boiling down JBREC dealer and consumer data into meaningful insights for Building Product clients. Tim leverages his unique experience in product marketing and channel strategy to ensure JBREC is ‘close to the ground’ on key strategic issues for building products and housing, including research from New Homes Trends Institute A wealth of experience, Before joining John Burns Real Estate Consulting, Tim worked at Nichiha where he led the sales, marketing, and product strategy for both the Modern Home and Modular Segments., Tim also worked at James Hardie, and in the LBM channel. Tim likes to hang out with friends, remodel, snowboard, hike, camp, overland and travel in his free time.

Betsy is the executive director of programs + engagement for the Alliance. For more than 20 years, she has excelled at helping people think differently by taking complex ideas and concepts, analyzing them from the perspective of others, and translating the results into action. That’s why she helms the Housing Innovation Alliance, a passion she’s pursued since 2008 with founding partner IBACOS and now as the Executive Director, Program + Engagement of an independent entity focused on bringing business and technical innovation to housing. Her responsibilities for strategic planning, member and sponsor engagement, and programming speak to her fierce attention to detail, creative mind, and ability to make complex subjects tangible, relevant and actionable.  She adds depth to ideas, finds and shares new opportunities, and conveys greater understanding to business issues. Armed with a degree in Marketing from the University of Pittsburgh, Betsy cut her teeth in the agency world and as an independent B2B and B2C marketing consultant before joining IBACOS in 2006. In her off-time, she’s either feeding her farm-to-table foodie jones, working on her century-old house, or spending time with her husband and fur children, Watson and Finnegan, at one of Pittsburgh’s many parks and rivers.
