With more than 25 years of experience in the building and development industry, Craig has focused his career around innovation, execution and growth. As Chief Operating Officer, Craig oversees a wide array of residential projects throughout Tavistock Development’s portfolio in Lake Nona, Sunbridge and beyond – including residential lot development, mixed-use projects and Craft – Century Homes. He also oversees Tavistock’s onsite property management and technology. Prior to joining Tavistock Development, Craig most recently served as a Division President with Pulte Group – leading all operations throughout New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Throughout his career, Craig has spearheaded the planning and construction of more than 20,000 homes ranging from single-family detached and attached residences, to an array of multi-family buildings. In addition, Craig directed the planning and development of hundreds of projects, including large master-planned communities, infill and mixed-use developments. Craig is a graduate of Ryerson University in Toronto, Canada.

Elizabeth has more than 20 years of experience in the technology field. Prior to HomeZada, she offered strategic planning services to software and Internet startups and held several positions with project management software company, Meridian Systems.

Manzur is on a mission of healthy home, healthy community, healthy world. He is currently leading a community housing project focused on integrating health care and housing as a service. Safari Homes is a new model for community housing that focuses on moms, kids and senior citizens living in harmony—complimenting each other's needs. With this in mind, Manzur is looking to disrupt the way we build home, the way we service the dwellers and the way we finance it.He will share how their model can impact health and wellness — physical and mental, financial and social. Manzur has spent the past nine years working at the intersection of health care and information technology — helping improve care and quality of life as an integration architect with Cerner Corporation, as a clinical application analyst with Rogers Behavioral Health and as a contract IT specialist with InteliRev, a healthcare services company. He began his career as a tech entrepreneur and established the first business incubator/accelerator program in Bangladesh in 2005. He ran that program for three years, successfully graduating multiple local and global initiatives.

Chuck Chippero is a manufacturing and supply chain professional with over 19 years of experience in residential construction.  Today, he is the Vice President of Strategic Sourcing and Innovation at PulteGroup, Inc.   In 2001, Chuck joined PulteGroup as President and General Director of Pulte Home Sciences where he led the development and implementation of innovative residential building technologies. Chuck has over 20 years of operations, supply chain and engineering leadership experience in the automotive industry both in the United States and abroad.

Matthew Blank is a Co-Founder of Blank Property Group (BPG), a diversified holding company with two principal divisions: real estate and industrial. New construction, single-family homes for rent are part of their portfolio through Higley Homes, based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Prior to forming BPG in 2011, he was a senior equity analyst at Long Pond Capital, LP, a long/short hedge fund focused on the real estate sector. There, Matthew specialized in the multifamily and single-family housing markets. Matthew also previously worked at Morgan Stanley Real Estate, where his focus on investment banking, private equity, and the capital markets. Additionally, Matthew was an advisor on debt restructuring assignments involving over $6B of commercial mortgage-backed securities loans, and executed over $650mm of equity capital market transactions. Matthew graduated from the JD/MBA program at the University of Pennsylvania Law School and the Wharton Business School. He received a Bachelor of Arts, cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania.

Rebecca McAdoo is the Division President of Fresh Paint and Garman Homes. Rebecca leads with an uncompromising drive towards professional success and personal development. She is also known for her deep and abiding practice of genuine gratitude. Rebecca started her career in warranty for Centex Homes before being encouraged to try sales. She quickly excelled in sales, thriving even in the worst of the downturn in 2009 when along with her partner she reached over $30 Million in sales in a community with an average price point of $350k. Unsurprisingly, she was chosen out of 20,000 employees to be featured in a company rebranding video.  In 2010, Rebecca joined a three person team to start the Raleigh Division of Ashton Woods. By 2018, as Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Rebecca and her team grew the division to 300 sales. Now as Division President at Garman, she is the only female Division President in the Raleigh-Durham market. In her first year and a half,  her team has increased margin – resulting in a record breaking year, managed cycle times to pull up closings, and earned 100% likely to recommend from their closing surveys in 2019. She was proud to be named to Professional Builder Magazine’s 40 Under 40 list for 2017. She is prouder still to have grown a family alongside her career. Mom to three children under 10 and wife to Jay, a Durham County Sheriff, Rebecca relentlessly pursues a life at full speed with full joy and gratitude.

Over nearly three decades, she has brought to life some of the most valued and recognized brands in resort and community development.  As chief marketing officer at Newland for more than a decade, she was the architect of the largest U.S. community developer’s brand, elevating its application in more than 40 communities in 14 states, where she also led new community startups, opening 11 new communities in four years.

John spent almost two decades in retail leadership and strategy working for a variety of global lifestyle brands during a time of hyper growth and emergence. From Abercrombie & Fitch, to Michael Kors before their IPO, to the first Brand House Division store for Under Armour he has had the privilege of working for some of the most powerful lifestyle brands known to consumers. He is an expert in retail strategy, customer experience, and the recruitment and training of teams and people. John grew up in a family built-on entrepreneurial spirit. His mother, Kathleen Cecilian, has helped to create powerful brands for some of the most respected master planned community developers across North America.  For years, John has gleaned insights into the broken nature of the customer journey in real estate and noticed a parallel between retail and residential real estate. In the end of 2018, John assembled a dynamic team of outside industry experts and formed Cecilian Partners. A business focused on transforming customer experience through data, technology, and human capital. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Systems Thinking and Global Finance from Villanova University, and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Psychology from Duquesne University. He is a full member of the Urban Land Institute.

Carlos is currently vice president of purchasing for View Homes, one of the nation’s top 100 new homebuilders since 1990 and one of the fastest growing privately owned homebuilders in the country. He has more than 25 years of experience leading company-wide efforts within building organizations with expertise including production optimization, trade negotiations, strategic sourcing and material management, supply chain management, process improvement, value engineering and cost reduction. Prior to joining View Homes, Carlos held leadership positions with regional and national homebuilders, including Taylor Morrison, Pulte Homes and Orleans Homebuilders. He got his hands dirty as the owner of his own roofing company, and he leveraged his expertise in homebuilding in the off-site construction space through Pulte Building Systems and, more recently, Katerra.

Chris is a fanatic about technology and its impact on homes and the housing value chain. He spent the bulk of his career as an investor, strategist, adviser, and innovation executive across the housing sector—from homebuilders to service companies and home product retail. Prior to IDEA Fund, Chris founded and led Lowe’s Ventures, where he sourced and invested in some of the most transformative companies in the housing innovation sector. In addition, he has been a keynote speaker and panelist for major industry conferences and events. Chris leads the Charlotte office for IDEA Fund Partners.

Thomas Simpson (Director, BIM Technology) is a Building Information Modeling (BIM) expert with extensive knowledge of technologies specific to architecture, design and graphics. Thomas has advanced educational degrees in architecture and integrated building design and construction. His experience includes translating hand-drawn, as-built plans into intelligent drawings for the electrical, mechanical and plumbing systems for the U.S. Department of Defense—specifically, for battleships.

Margaret Whelan has been CEO of Whelan Advisory, LLC since 2014. In this role she provides strategic and financial counsel to leaders of both public and private companies in the U.S. and Canada. She is a seasoned executive and industry expert with a deep knowledge of industry drivers, players, valuation and financing alternatives. She serves on the boards of three companies: TopBuild (NYSE: BLD), privately held Mattamy Homes, and John Burns Real Estate Consulting. Whelan was a Managing Director and senior coverage partner in the Real Estate and Lodging group within the investment bank at JPMorgan from 2007 to 2013, advising clients on strategic and capital initiatives through the housing industry’s biggest boom and subsequent downturn. From 1997 to 2007, she worked at UBS as a Managing Director and highly regarded stock analyst covering more than 30 stocks including homebuilders, manufacturers and retailers. She was also the Global Head of Housing Research. More recently, from 2013 to 2014, she ran the finance group of a fast-growth, publicly traded real estate private equity firm and, as its CFO, oversaw budgeting, financial reporting, capital raising, investor and media relations, human resources and regulatory compliance. She started her career in the equity research department at Merrill Lynch.

Dylan Rhea is an Enterprise Managing Consultant with RealFoundations. He brings more than 20 years of both domestic and international real estate industry experience to RealFoundations in both the public and private sectors, working with clients to deliver key projects in the areas of business transformation, target operating model development, long-term technology strategy, and enterprise platform implementations. Across the span of his career, Dylan has focused on homebuilding, construction/development, owner/operator, corporate service provider, and real estate investment market segments. He has forged trusted relationships with global clients such as Morgan Stanley, Jones Lang LaSalle, Simon Property Group, AMP Capital Investors, Developers Diversified Realty, and Boston Properties, as well as Top 20 public builders KB Home, Lennar Corporation, and Ryland Homes. Prior to joining RealFoundations, Dylan held consulting positions with both Ernst & Young and Cap Gemini Ernst & Young as a part of their real estate and technology consulting practices.

Dr. Diana Fisler has served the building materials industry in a variety of roles over the years most recently as Building Science and Innovation Leader with Johns Manville. In that role, she delivered new business opportunities in the building space, including airsealing, weather barrier, and off-site construction solutions. Diana earned her PhD in Geophysics from Penn State University and currently contributes her expertise to a number of industry organizations and committees such as ASHRAE and ASTM.   As the only woman in the room for many years, Diana brings an interesting perspective –that it is possible to innovate in building materials and construction and that this is a fun and challenging sector to be in… Listen in to this episode of #HerStoriesInHousing:

Tim has almost two decades of experience as a BIM professional. The bulk of his career has been with CG Visions, a software and service provider focused on the pragmatic adoption of technology by residential and light commercial construction. Simpson Strong-Tie fully acquired CG Visions in 2017. His position with Simpson Strong-Tie has permitted closer alignment of the company's suite of software related products and services, which meets the needs of various disciplines including but not limited to builders, framers, lumber and builder material suppliers, suppliers, component manufacturers, architects, engineers, designers, inspectors, etc. Tim has a proven track record of developing strategic technical partnerships and identifying how software and services best fit into the industry. Tim’s knowledge and understanding of BIM technology and its significance to the construction industry instills confidence with clients and develops high-performing teams. Tim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Graphics Technology from Purdue University with a concentration in Construction Technology and a MBA from Butler University in Indianapolis.

President of the Housing Innovation Alliance, Dennis is a catalyst. An expert at driving market transformation programs, he knows people, money, and how to get things done. As president of the Alliance, he leads our strategic vision and smart growth of our community. Prior to the Alliance, Dennis helped change the face of the housing industry in Saudi Arabia through two key initiatives: the Ministry of Housing’s Building Technology Stimulus Initiative (BTSI) and SABIC’s Home of Innovation™ program. In BTSI, Dennis helped to create a nationwide program to develop a modular housing industry—modeling 26 strategic initiatives that would jumpstart the creation of a robust construction ecosystem, evaluating 200+ global technology providers, and securing initial approval for $4B in government investment. Within one year, the commitment grew to $40B. Dennis was also a key player in SABIC’s Home of Innovation program, a $30M+ multi-year market engagement program focused on encouraging collaboration among the housing value chain and ensuring that better construction practices are adopted throughout the region. Together with his team, Dennis established and managed a global ecosystem of more than 1,000 subject matter experts, including 46 leading manufacturer partners. The program resulted in the Middle East’s first LEED platinum home, a pilot community of 1,200 LEED Silver homes and a LEED gold interactive exhibition center, which has become the epicenter for collaboration in the region. As of 2016, the program yielded 40+ business opportunities with more than $200M in new value creation. Before and after going global, Dennis acted as a consultant to and developer of residential and mixed-use real estate projects in southwestern PA, several of which are considered pioneering examples of placemaking in North America—including Venango Trails, Edgewater and Newbury. In his spare time, he enjoys big adventures with his wife and sons on the water and in the mountains and supports the efforts of other entrepreneurs—advising and investing in their startup companies.

Mike is focused on providing residential builders a high performance, off-site solution that takes panelization to the next level—meeting today’s and tomorrow’s code requirements in all climate zones while increasing efficiency, reducing cycle time, and maintaining cost. He has been in the urethane industry (coating, adhesives and foams) since 2000. He played an active role in the development of the PUReWall system and brought a vast amount of knowledge to this new Hunter endeavor when he joined the team in 2019. Prior to Hunter Panels, Mike was with Accella Polyurethane Systems and Covestro, before their acquisition by Accella, as the Northeast Regional Manager for spray foam. He also served as a Project Supervisor with NVR Homes, after working as an account manager with Bayer MaterialScience, where he began his career. Mike lives in the Philadelphia area with his wife and three children. He is a native of western PA and a graduate of Westminster College. In his free time, he enjoys sports, outdoor activities including hiking, camping, fishing and hunting.

Betsy is the executive director of programs + engagement for the Alliance. For more than 20 years, she has excelled at helping people think differently by taking complex ideas and concepts, analyzing them from the perspective of others, and translating the results into action. Rodney has 31 years of experience conducting retained search in the homebuilding, community development and multifamily industries. He entered the search business with the Talon Group in 1988, becoming a Partner in 1992. Rodney launched his current practice in 2012 to work collaboratively with a select group of leading organizations. As a Full Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Rodney has served six years as a Vice Chair of the Community Development Council (Gold Flight) and five years as Co-Chair of the Community Development Council (North Texas District). He is currently a member of the Residential Neighborhood Development Council (Blue Flight) and the Housing Innovation Alliance.
