Innovation on the Go: An Exploration Into How Homebuilders Lead Change



As market dynamics continue to challenge housing production, homebuilders not only have to figure out how to deliver an affordable product with reasonable profit, but they also must adapt to an ever-evolving regulatory landscape. This makes innovation in the homebuilding industry more challenging than many other industries. This innovation has to happen on the go.

A collaboration between Ivory Innovations, the Housing Innovation Alliance and ProBuilder Magazine conducted qualitative interviews with homebuilders across the United States in spring 2024 to understand the framework behind their strategic growth and innovation initiatives.

In addition to the interviews, observations were captured from data collected through ProBuilder Magazine’s 2024 Housing Giants Survey. The annual survey includes over 200 of the largest homebuilders in the US and provides insights based on various metrics such as revenue, number of closings, and types of homes built.
