Nicole is the chief operating officer, president, and co-founder of Tangible, a software platform that will help real estate owners and developers reduce the embodied carbon of their construction. Tangible enables centralized data management – tracking, managing, and reporting embodied carbon of projects across portfolios. Previously, Nicole was a sustainability manager for Novalis Innovative Flooring and an equity research and operations analyst with 19 Capital Management. A Harvard graduate, Nicole is currently certified as a LEED Green Associate and was previously an accredited professional under Reset Air and WELL.

Eric is VP of innovation for SMI and the liaison to The Picket Fence builder, EcoCraft Homes. He is a registered architect and a graduate of the Carnegie Mellon University School of Architecture. From 1998 to 2005, Eric worked at Integrated Building & Construction Solutions (IBACOS), one of the nation’s leading research and development firms in the homebuilding industry, where he led technology transfer and builder enablement programs on behalf of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Building America program.

Teri is principal of tst ink and founder of the America at Home Study. She works with community developers and entrepreneurs to tap into deep customer insights and create places and brands that connect with people through experiences that matter. Over nearly three decades, she has brought to life some of the most valued and recognized brands in resort and community development.  As chief marketing officer at Newland for more than a decade, she was the architect of the largest U.S. community developer’s brand, elevating its application in more than 40 communities in 14 states, where she also led new community startups, opening 11 new communities in four years.

With broad experience in construction management, engineering, and architecture, Ryan formed citySTUDIO, LLC with a mindset of efficiently moving projects forward to benefit clients and the greater community. Ryan studied Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, where he received his Masters of Science. After working several years in construction management at Carnegie Mellon Design & Construction, Ryan worked independently, and with a number of Pittsburgh community benefit organizations, as owners rep, project manager, general contractor, crew foreman, and design-build engineer. From successful management of highly-contested zoning cases, to personal experience in general construction, plumbing and electrical trades, Ryan’s wide-ranging work experiences give him a particularly extensive understanding of the process of building in the city. He chairs the Housing and Land Use Committee of the Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation, and is Passive House certified.

In the lumber/EWP business since 1988, Dennis started working at UFP in the mid 1990’s. While at UFP,  Dennis served as a Regional General Manager of Operations running truss and panel plants as well as overseeing the Open Joist plant in White Pigeon, MI.  Dennis has also held many Regional Sales Manager positions and is currently the National Sales Manager for Allegheny structural Components the team behind Open Joist.

Ryan is director of design for DAHLIN. An innovator in design thinking, Ryan challenges teams across the firm to think differently. Harnessing the potential of a given project’s vision, he is known for seeding brainstorming sessions with fresh perspective and thought-provoking questions that inspire DAHLIN’s teams to push the envelope of design and solve problems for its clients. He has led the innovative architectural design of many building types that have moved design forward while passing the test of market demands.

Prior to being promoted to COO, I was the Director of Engineering for Structural Modulars Incorporated for 24 years. In the past 30 plus years I have been very involved in the design, approval, manufacturing, and site construction of a wide array of projects. Projects that include everything from single story homes, commercial office buildings, multi-story apartment buildings, student housing, and a 3 story hotel to name a few. My experience also includes working closely with building code officials, architects, engineers, contractors, city, state, and federal officials.

President of the Housing Innovation Alliance, Dennis is a catalyst. An expert at driving market transformation programs, he knows people, money, and how to get things done. As president of the Alliance, he leads our strategic vision and smart growth of our community. Prior to the Alliance, Dennis helped change the face of the housing industry in Saudi Arabia through two key initiatives: the Ministry of Housing’s Building Technology Stimulus Initiative (BTSI) and SABIC’s Home of Innovation™ program. In BTSI, Dennis helped to create a nationwide program to develop a modular housing industry—modeling 26 strategic initiatives that would jumpstart the creation of a robust construction ecosystem, evaluating 200+ global technology providers, and securing initial approval for $4B in government investment. Within one year, the commitment grew to $40B. Dennis was also a key player in SABIC’s Home of Innovation program, a $30M+ multi-year market engagement program focused on encouraging collaboration among the housing value chain and ensuring that better construction practices are adopted throughout the region. Together with his team, Dennis established and managed a global ecosystem of more than 1,000 subject matter experts, including 46 leading manufacturer partners. The program resulted in the Middle East’s first LEED platinum home, a pilot community of 1,200 LEED Silver homes and a LEED gold interactive exhibition center, which has become the epicenter for collaboration in the region. As of 2016, the program yielded 40+ business opportunities with more than $200M in new value creation. Before and after going global, Dennis acted as a consultant to and developer of residential and mixed-use real estate projects in southwestern PA, several of which are considered pioneering examples of placemaking in North America—including Venango Trails, Edgewater and Newbury. In his spare time, he enjoys big adventures with his wife and sons on the water and in the mountains and supports the efforts of other entrepreneurs—advising and investing in their startup companies.
